Paul is the hands behind most the stones we cut in‑house — shaping, grinding, and polishing each one with the patience and precision that define true lapidary work. Even while balancing a full‑time career and another part‑time role outside our business, he continues to grow his silversmithing skills and bring a thoughtful, steady craftsmanship to every project we take on together. His work is becoming an essential part of Brooks 1953, one stone at a time.
The Story Behind the Name
Brooks 1953
Brooks 1953 honours the silver trademark first used by my great‑grandfather, Roy Brooks Sr. in 1953 — the mark that started our family’s story in western silversmithing. Four generations later, that same grit, craftsmanship, and love for honest materials still guide everything we create.
For me, Brooks 1953 is about choosing a more intentional life — one rooted in artistry, heritage, and time with my daughter. Every piece we finish in the studio is shaped by hand, made to honour where we come from while becoming part of someone else’s story.
My dad, Richard Brooks, has carried this tradition forward for decades. He’s the one teaching me the craft, passing down the techniques, patience, and respect for detail that define our family’s work.
